Generalist/Tenancy Project Lawyer with CLE component (Full time - 6 months fixed term)

 

Moonee Valley Legal Service (MVLS) is seeking full time generalist and tenancy lawyer for a fixed-term of six months.


MVLS is located in Ascot Vale and provides free legal assistance and education to people who live, work or study in the City of Moonee Valley. Our service is located within a vibrant community centre in the middle of a public housing estate, with a number of co-located services including maternal and child health nurses, settlement services, drug and alcohol counsellors and English language classes.  
 

This role will involve the provision of advice, casework and advocacy services to disadvantaged clients on a range of legal issues, including a focus on tenancy related matters. It will also include the supervision of law student volunteers and the provision of legal information sessions.
 

Experience in tenancy law will be highly regarded. Experience in the CLC sector is preferred.

VOLUNTEER VACANCIES

 

Volunteers play a valued and integral role at MVLS and we offer various opportunities for their involvement. Volunteers generally assist on a rostered basis supporting our Monday night service, our weekday appointment services, administrative functions or particular projects. We welcome the contribution of lawyers, law students and individuals with an interest in community engagement.
